A personal message

Hi, my name is Matt Belcher and this is my personal blog.  I started this really so I could put down my ideas and thoughts about Personal Development.  After going through some big changes in my life I thought that what I had learnt could be useful to someone.

I make money from this blog but really it’s not enough to call “income”.  I make that from working with large corporations on joint ventures and marketing work.

I am NOT a Self Help or Personal Development Guru but I am continually learning and developing.  Please feel free to contact me or leave comments.  This blog is here to help people and if you have some valuable comments then go ahead and contribute.

Hi I’m Matt and 5 years ago I needed to make a big change and fast!

I was in a pretty unpleasant place and luckily a friend introduced me to two books called “The Magic of Thinking Big” by David J. Schwartz and “Think and Grow Rich” by Napoleon Hill.

After reading these two books I realised I could make a major Life Turn Around. I did a complete 360 and changed my life….

This site is dedicated to giving you tools that will help you make that change.

My company had just closed down, I had huge debt, my house was about to be taken, no job, no income, drinking all the time….not a great place to be!  I also had some personal challenges that were creating problems.

As I said above, I needed to change and fast.  So what happened?  Well  someone helped me.  I was offered some work renovating a flat in London by my Auntie.  Her husband had a business and needed someone to help get the flat ready for the builders to come in.  It was manual work, I had done that before and I needed the money so why not?

Well taking that work was one of the best things I could have done.

My friend (Uncle) knew that I was in a low place and he also knew I had drive, ambition and fighting spirit.  He knew I needed some information that would change the way I thought forever.

We drove down to London everyday and on the way he talked to me about business, life, people, money, politics….we talked about many things.  What I didn’t know is that he was getting me ready for the biggest change in my life.  He was opening my eyes to a world I didn’t know existed.  I was  rough diamond and he was shaping me.

So what was I missing in my life?  Understanding.  Understanding what success really is.

You see I thought success was all about making the most money, having the best business or driving a great car.  I didn’t realise it has NOTHING to do with any of that.

He started to give me books.  I started to read.  My brain started to work for the first time in a long time.  I was changing and the journey that I am now on started.  He gave me the tools and I started to build my life again.

I read 100’s of books and listened to hours of personal development audios.

Today, I have several businesses,  working on many projects, have a wonderful marrige, love my friends, enjoy going for my goals and dreams and I now know that success is the progressive realisation of a great dream.

And that is why I created this site.  I don’t try and be the next Personal Development guru.  I am just here, giving you honest, open advice about how to turn your life around.  I review personal development produts and tell you what I think works.

My goal for this site is to help people.  If you read one thing on this site and it helps you then that is great.  If you change your life then I will have achived.

You can change your life if you have the information to help.  I know the Self Help and Personal Development industry is considered by some to be “kooky” but I can tell you that it has change my life and it can yours also.  You get anything you want in life.

I would love to hear from anyone who wants to share their story with others on this site.
